Following a class discussion about the human brain, the injuries it can incur, and the importance of protecting it through the use of helmets, students worked in small groups to design and build a tower that would hold a raw egg for a minimum of 10 seconds. Groups were given index cards, scissors, a ruler, and masking tape along with minimum dimension requirements of the finished tower. Groups then had the opportunity to test their towers! We then debriefed by discussing the different designs and the effectiveness of each. Lots of fun!
